STANDING EASELS

Standing easels also come in a large range of styles and sizes, from table-top models to floor standing varieties. These are designed for the studio or indoor work. These easels (pictured right) are simple, straightforward, and functional. They have extending masts and a main frame that tilts forward perpendicular to the floor, and tilts back for painting at an angle. Their bases fold up against the frame for easy storage. These easels are equipped with rubber nonskid feet for stability and can optionally be fitted with locking casters.

Airbrush and Airbrush Inks AIRBRUSH

Depending on the model/type an airbrush functions as either a gravity or bottom feed airbrush. Counterbalanced, something that is important for a heavy airbrush.

Single Action Airbrush: The air and fluid are mixed in the airstream, outside the airbrush. This makes it a reliable tool for spraying thicker paints and glazes because the air keeps flowing without clogs.

Double Action Airbrush: ideal for quick effects changes and minimal clean-up time.

Airbrush Paint

Airbrush colors are inks and paints that are designed especially for airbrush performance. However, airbrush artists are not limited to these colors. Any liquid that can be thinned to the consistency of milk can be sprayed through an airbrush, including acrylics, enamels, ceramic glazes, inks, dyes, gouache, and watercolor paint.

Air Compressors

A pressure regulator and gauge combination controls air output to the airbrush. It's not absolutely necessary to use a regulator, but once you use one, you'll never want to work without it.

A regulator becomes a necessity when your technique or the viscosity of the liquid require you to control airflow more precisely. Having a compressor that gives you a wide range of pressure to regulate allows you to experiment with a broader range of paints and techniques.

RUBBER CEMENT

An adhesive that is applied to both parts of the project, allowed to dry, and then placed together. Usually the bond is not permanent or strong, so the pieces can be taken apart or repositioned. Strong fumes and odors, use in a well ventilated area.
