THE HISTORY
ARTKids began as a discussion between board members of ARTFaces | ARTPlaces (AFAP at www.artfaces.com) about the value of ART in Education.
Following the name theme of the parent Website, ARTFaces | ARTPlaces, and it's subsequent news forum ARTVoices, ARTKids was born! A call was sent out for a logo, and several charter members entered their image candidates. The choice was difficult, but finally the logo (shown on right) created by Judith Gaines, was voted in as the official ARTKids Logo.
With the help of the following volunteers, ARTKids has
become what it is today:
Daniel Sparks: My Son and Technical Advisor.
Sean Wilson: Dear Friend, Technical Advisor, and creator of the shell scripts for the games in ARTBlast.
Zettie Schultz: God-send and Educational Resource Specialist. Zettie volunteers many hours to brainstorm and provide the lessons in the ARTZone.
ARTKids has become, as quoted from a fellow AFAP member, "a labor of love". I hope you enjoy ARTKids, as much as I enjoy working on it. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful letters of support and enthusiasm. A special thanks to the AFAP Team that has dreamed up this exciting project, and for all the help offered and received. The magic of community has kept me afloat in a project that might have otherwise become overwhelming.
I plan to keep this site going full steam ahead, so keep checking back for state of the art changes in format and design. The amount of artwork exhibited will expand to the point of encompassing all nations, with representatives of many cultures and life-styles.
